Camila Gutierrez Gongora (MGM 2026) moved to HK from Bogotá, Colombia to pursue a Masters in Global Management, a new chapter after studying her bachelors in microbiology and working in different fields. Despite having moved across the world for studying, Camila had no difficulty in adapting to the new culture and ways of living thanks to HKU showing her a whole new world of opportunities.
Most valuable lesson from your time at HKU?
HKU really helped me to be more confident and adaptable. Now I feel more prepared to face challenges, not only in academics or professional settings, but in everyday life. I want to keep practicing leadership outside the classroom and nurture the friendships and experience I gained here.
Time at HKU challenged me to get out of my comfort zone and seize all opportunities ... I am more confident in myself and in what I am capable of.
A moment that truly defines your HKU journey was...
When I had the opportunity to be a Student Ambassador in the Business School masters Programme. Through this, I met many people from different majors and backgrounds whom I might have never had a chance to meet.
I also learned about leardership, friendships, etiquettes, fashion, kindness and so much more. I am deeply thankful for this opportunity that helped me develop soft skills.
